There are three arenas that mark a good lesson plan. These arena are not complete, but only the start of a good plan (there is performing, and feedback, reflection, and evaluation that come after).
First there is the jumping off point – the idea, concept, or piece of music that is the day’s focus of investigation. Yours will have to do with the pentatonic scale.
Next is the space of interaction – discussion and area of divergent thinking and testing out.
After that comes the making – the creating, composing, or improvising that makes up a good general music class.
